Walmer and Suburban
Kennel Club
(affiliated
to the Kennel Union of South Africa)
The Club was established in 1934 to serve
the growing town of Walmer, now incorporated into Port
Elizabeth, and will host its 80th Championship Breed
and discipline show in 2019.
For many years, the Club has been the unofficial home
of the Labrador Retriever in the Eastern Cape, thanks
to the efforts of the late Alf Skinner and his
Casalinho Labradors, bred by the late Trevor Tinker,
which competed in breed, obedience and
tracking competitions.
The Club is now in the position to fulfil one of Alf’s
dreams and will hold field trials in
the Eastern Cape during the month of August each year.
Field Trial training is offered with training sessions
held weekly.
Advice is also offered on breed showing, obedience and
working trials.
Inquiries are welcome and should be addressed to the
following members of the
Walmer and Suburban Kennel Club Field Trials
sub-committee
