The KUSA Office received an application for Champion and Junior Merit for Dallmalli C’est la Vie (ZA005985B18). All the relevant awards, barring one, showed the dog’s registration number as ZA005982B18 (the last digit being a 5 instead of a 2). The Owner is pleading for leniency for the administrative error. The Office would like to know how to proceed.
R500 fine to be imposed for the administrative errors made on the Show Entry Form. The KUSA Office to correct the applicable Show Catalogues and upload the replacement Show Catalogues to the KUSA website.

Trick Dog ran the second Speciality test in September – the theme for this fun, non-competitive event was ‘Spring’. Handlers and their dogs needed to perform 10 tricks, from any level, that spoke to the theme. Excitingly, between the Speciality entries and the entries for the titling levels, the entries totalled 100! This is up from 61 entries in August 2023 and 59 in November 2022 (both titling levels only).

9.1. Applications for Club Affiliation/Notification of Closure
Notification of Club Closure
Natal Coast Kennel Club held their AGM on 15.02.2023 where it was agreed to close the Club. It was further agreed that remaining finances were to be donated to the Highway Kennel Club.
However, the office noted some apparent irregularities in the financial statements for financial years ending 2021 and 2022. These have been discussed with KZN Provincial Council Chairman Michael Vorster who agreed to investigate further.
Thereafter, Natal Coast Kennel Club submitted revised financials for 2021 and 2022, which do not meet requirements and does not provide the clarity required to close the matter.
The Club requested more information from the auditors on 07.06.2023 as all books were handed over to them.
MH and YJ agreed to liaise with Michael Vorster with the aim to attain information to address the irregularity.
YJ suggested that a letter be sent to the accounting company requesting that they provide KUSA with the required documentation.

Despite offering to send the limited documentation the Audit Company had on file, nothing has been received as yet. CPA reported that the KUSA office had received confirmation from Highway Kennel Club that they had received the transfer of funds from the Natal Coast Kennel Club. (See attached for noting).

If dispensation for the registration of the 6 th litter is not granted, the breeder reluctantly proposes that the 6 th litter be aborted, and dispensation be granted for the registration of the next litter which is critical to her breeding programme.

After careful consideration approval for the registration of the 6 th litter currently in gestation was approved and it was further agreed that a 7 th litter would also be accepted for registration on the proviso that, prior to the mating for the 7 th litter taking place, the Dam be subject to a thorough Vet examination and a detailed Vet Report be submitted together with the litter registration application.
Approval was granted on condition that the breeder understands and accepts that no further requests for dispensation for registration of any other litters out of any Dam registered in her name will be accepted or considered by Exco going forward.

10. GENERAL
10.1MA raised concerns about an incident that occurred at a recent Show where an International Judge was replaced by a local Judge. PM advised that the matter had been reported to the KUSA office and was being attended to. It was agreed that the Club be requested to provide an explanation as to why the International Judge was unable to fulfil her duties. Carry forward to next meeting.
10.2 MA raised the query on what happens when dogs are exhibited in a Class that it was not entered in. PM advised that as per the Regulations, an objection may be lodged on the day with the Show Committee. PM advised that an explanation is to be sought from the Ring Steward as to why the changes were made. Carry forward to next meeting.
10.3 MA reported that exhibitors are adding ‘made up’ titles for their dogs and are adding them to Show documentation. PM advised that the KUSA office could assist by providing a list of titles which are legitimate.
