5.2 SHOWS
5.2.1. Applications for Second Championship Show
5.2.1.1 Queenstown & District Kennel Club – 31.07.2022:
The above Club is requesting to hold a second Championship Show on the weekend of 29 - 31.07.2022 to fall within the East London Cluster Show weekend.
Motivation: Continuous rising costs have affected ‘country’ shows drastically, as not many people can afford to travel as previously. If they are going to invest in an away trip, the cluster needs to be appealing to make it worthwhile. We therefore would like to hold four (4) All-breeds Shows (and the two Group Shows) over the weekend.

5.2.1.2 Mother City Poodle Club – 21.10.2022:
The above Club is requesting to hold a second Championship Show on 21.10.2022.
Motivation: The reason for the request is that we were not able to host a Championship Show in October 2021 due to the uncertainty of lockdown and what it was going to allow, or not allow. Based on this, the Club decided that it was best to not host a show and, instead, to try in the beginning of 2022 when the restrictions might have eased a bit.
We have partnered up with the Western Province Boxer Club that will be bringing in a foreign Judge and we are sharing the costs. We then had our 2021 Show in February 2022 and therefore we are requesting that we are allowed to host our 2022 Show in October as our Club has always done.

The Executive Committee unanimously agreed to grant permission for the Northern Tvl Bull Terrier Club to hold a second (2nd) Championship Show on 17.07.2022 at PetExpo ’22, via round robin vote .

5.2.2 Dog entered contrary to the Regulations (see attached catalogue extracts and club report):
The dog, a Puppy born 24.05.2021 (11 months old), was exhibited and judged in the Junior
Class.

DEFINITION OF CLASSES
It is compulsory for every Championship Show-holding Club holding Breed Classes to include the following Classes in the Show Schedule:
MINOR PUPPY (MP): For dogs of six (6) and under nine (9) months of age on the first day of the Show.
PUPPY (PU): For dogs of nine (9) and under twelve (12) months of age on the first day of the Show.
JUNIOR (JU): For dogs of twelve (12) and under eighteen (18) months of age on the first day of the Show.
GRADUATE (GR): For dogs of eighteen (18) and under twenty-four (24) months of age on the first day of the Show.
OPEN (OP): For dogs of any Breed therein provided for.

7.15 Any dog which has been exhibited contrary to these Regulations shall be liable to disqualification and cancellation of any awards gained, whether or not an objection has been lodged under Regulation 31.
The Show Entry Forms for the dog entered in the NTKC Shows on 14-15.05.2022 were not received by the Show Secretary. The dog was hurriedly added to the Ring Steward’s sheets on the day as the Entry Forms and proof of payment were presented as proof of submission. The dog’s date of birth was not checked due to time constraints. Instead of showing in the Puppy Class, the owner entered the Junior Class on both days and won awards that are now required to be withdrawn and awarded to the reserve dogs (details below):

The Club requests permission to withdraw these awards and award the necessary prizes to the Reserves.
After discussion it was decided that the awards are to be withdrawn and a letter to be sent to the Club advising it to be more cautious in future.
5.2.3 Show Calendar 2022/2023
The 2023 Calendar has been compiled (attached). The dates for the National Events need to be checked and finalised so that the Showdog of the Year 2023 list of shows can be finalised.

5.2.4 Schedule 3 Reg. 14 & Reg. 19.8 – Exclusion of Dogs
5.2.4.1 Temporary Exclusion Order – Rhodesian Ridgeback – Kleinvalley Stalin – Reg No. ZA002674B20 – Report received of 2nd incident which took place at Cape Gundog Club (under licence of Liesbeek Kennel Club) Non-Championship Show held 21.05.2022. Letter sent to Miss Zabolotnaya on 02.06.2022 (dated 31.05.2022) informing her of the need to complete Step 1, Step 2 (CGC Silver) and Step 3.
Letter received regarding Step 1. MA to look into whether training as presented in the letter received for Step 1 is sufficient and report back at the next meeting.

5.4.5 Dispensation required for Judges to Officiate at Non-Championship Shows:
Attached is a request from Doreen Powell for assistance regarding the number of Judges available to Judge the finals at Cape Non-Championship shows. Available Judges do not have the required number of Groups to officiate (3 Groups, Level 4). She is asking that the following regulation be relaxed:

15.5 Unless dispensation is granted by Exco, at a Non-Championship Show, clubs must select a judge with a minimum qualification of three groups at Level 4 to officiate at the Best in Show and Best Puppy in Show challenges. Should there be no suitably qualified Learner Judge on the panel, the club would need to appoint a suitably qualified Judge specifically for the Best in Show and Best Puppy in Show challenges. In the dispensation areas, Eastern Cape and Free State, the minimum qualification for a BIS and/or BPIS judge may be a licensed judge for a minimum of one group.

9.1 Applications for Club Affiliation/Notification of Closure
9.1.1 Chihuahua Club
The Club voted at their AGM of 15.01.2022 to close the club. There are no assets in the bank account.

9.1.2 Western Suburbs Dog School
The Club held its AGM on 18.06.2022 and took the decision to dissolve the Club.

9.1.3 The Bay GSD IGP Sport Club
The Club paid their affiliation fee on 13.06.2022. Outstanding documents include: Steering Committee members (one is not a member of KUSA), list of Club members, a letter from a sponsoring Club, approval from EC&B PC .

9.2 Amendments to Club Constitutions
9.2.1 The Dobermann Club
The Club adopted the new Constitution at their AGM of 27.02.2022. They have requested a name change to Marks Park All Breeds Dog Training Club as they have no Dobermann breeders in the Club. This new name appears on the Constitution .
Approved. Name changed accepted and Club to be changed to an All-breeds Dog Training Club, subject to the approval of DOGSPC.
9.2.2 The Golden Retriever Club of the Transvaal
The Club has submitted the following names, in order of preference, as alternative names for their Club. (See attached letter).
1) The Golden Retriever Club of South Africa,
2) The National Golden Retriever Club of South Africa,
3) The Northern Golden Retriever Club of South Africa,
4) Gauteng Golden Retriever Club.
The Golden Retriever Club of KZN was asked for comment and approved the name “Gauteng Golden Retriever Club”. They mentioned that they would not be happy for the inclusion of “of South Africa” in their name as it would give the impression of a national Club.
Subject to the approval of DOGSPC, the fourth choice of name, Gauteng Golden Retriever Club, was accepted and approved.
9.2.3 Bellville German Shepherd Dog Club / West Cape IGP Club
In May 2022 the Bellville GSD Club submitted a request for a name change given that they no longer met the criteria of being a Specialist Breed Club. The three suggestions provided were:
• Sirius IGP Dog Club
• Sirius Dog Club
• West Cape IGP
Exco agreed that the name West Cape IPG Club was most suitable, but the Club has responded requesting Exco to reconsider in favour of SIRIUS WESTERN CAPE IGP DOG CLUB, Sirius Dog Club or, a very distant third option, West Cape IGP.
Approved. Subject to the approval of the WCPC, the name Sirius Western Cape IGP Dog Club was accepted and approved.
9.2.4 The Natal GSD Club
The Club adopted and signed the new constitution at their AGM of 11.12.2021 .

The Club adopted and signed the new constitution at their AGM of 26.03.2022.

Not approved. Dispensation was not granted due to the fact that the Affidavit submitted did not set out the reasons for non-registration of the litter within the required registration period nor was a reason provided why only one of the pups out of the litter is being registered. Registration of the entire litter must be paid and applied for in accordance with Schedule 2 Reg.4.6.
The application submitted was for the registration of 3 puppies. It was incorrectly stated as one (1) puppy on the previous Exco agenda as Mr Coetzee only had access to the one puppy to do DNA Parentage Verification.
Further, Mr Coetzee had also applied and paid for the registration of a further litter of 4 puppies, born on the 15.11.2019 but is unable to do DNA Parentage Verification for these 4 puppies as the new owners are not forthcoming despite him offering to cover the costs thereof .
Approved. The non-DNA parentage verified puppies’ registration to be placed on hold until such time as DNA Parentage verification is received.

10. GENERAL
10.1 MA enquired about a query sent to KUSA office regarding the registration of a Dalmatian for Agility. The response from the KUSA Office was that the dog needed to be registered on the Non-Registry Breed Listing. PM advised that the dog could be registered on the Dogsport Register and will advise KUSA Office to be more cautious in future.
10.2 PM extended her apologies for the Exco meeting in July, which she would not be able to attend.
