5.2 SHOWS
5.2.1. Applications for Second Championship Show
5.2.1.1 Dobermann Club of the Cape – 16 October 2022
The above Club is requesting to hold a second Championship Show on the weekend of 16.10.2022.
Motivation: The Dobermann Club of the Cape has historically hosted its breed Championship Show in October each year. Due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions we were unable to do so in October 2020 and October 2021. We decided to host a Breed Championship Show in February 2022, in place of our October 2021 show.
We would now like to go back to our October show date and therefore request a licence to hold a 2nd Championship show. E-mail attached .

5.2.1.2 Cape Gundog Club – 14 October 2022
The above Club is requesting to hold a second Championship Show on the weekend of 14.10. 2022.
Motivation: This Judge, Mrs Joanne Day, is a Gundog Specialist Judge and is coming out to Africa on Safari. She has offered her services to us at no cost, so it is a great opportunity to have an international judge who is also a Gundog specialist. Unfortunately, we have already contracted to Carine Buitendach for our traditional show, so it seemed to be the best idea to hold a second show on the same day. E-mail attached.

5.2.1.3 Northern Transvaal Bull Terrier Club – 16 July 2022
The above Club is requesting to hold a second Championship Show on the weekend of 16.07.2022, on the same date as their Championship Show.
Motivation: They are aware that it clashes with the Pet Expo this year, but as they had contracted two overseas judges, they would like to go ahead with two shows on the same day. E-mail attached.
NS to contact Club and encourage them to host their Shows at PetExpo, failing which an alternate date will need to be applied for.
5.2.1.4 Baakens Valley Working & Herding Club – 30 September 2022
The above Club wishes to hold a second Championship TT & IGP show 30 September to 2 October with the KUSA Classic that they are hosting.
Motivation: Baakens Valley has invited Mr John Swartz, an out-of-town Judge, to judge the TT Nationals, the TT Classic and FCI-IGP Trial, hence sharing the expenses and saving the Club money. E-mail attached.

5.2.2 Non-Championship Show – Entries contrary to the Regulations
The Beagle Association of Gauteng was reported for allowing dogs in classes for which they were not eligible to enter (Non-Championship Show, 23.06 2022). A 13-month-old was admitted to a Puppy Class, and two dogs that were not yet 7 years of age were admitted into the Veterans Class. The Club has assured the KUSA office that it would not happen again. Complaint attached. Response from the Club attached. Schedule 3 age restricted Class list attached.
Letter to be sent from the KUSA office to advise that rules must be adhered to going forward.
5.2.3 Show Calendar 2022
The Show Calendar is updated daily and continues to be uploaded once a week onto the KUSA website.
5.2.4 Schedule 3 Reg. 14 & Reg. 19.8 – Exclusion of Dogs
5.2.4.1 Temporary Exclusion Order – Rhodesian Ridgeback – Kleinvalley Stalin – Reg. No. ZA002674B20 – The dog successfully completed its CGC Bronze on 09.04.2022 and has applied to be evaluated by two Hound Judges. The owner, Ms Zabolotnaya, has requested a response to her complaint regarding the way matters were handled. Brig Gen Nico du Preez has advised on response and the Club in question is being contacted prior to issuing a response. This matter has been raised with the Club and we are awaiting feedback.
After discussion it was decided that in light of the new information received, that the dog was to complete Step 1 as well as a CGC Silver.

5.2.6.1 KUSA Championship Show 2022
On behalf of the Chairman of the Executive Committee, we thank the Executive Committee for their prompt response to the urgent round robin vote circulated by the Exco Chairman last night (10.05.22).
This serves to confirm that all Executive Committee members have voted in favour of the addition of two Classes: Working Dog (WD) & Imported Dog (IM), for German Shepherd Dog (Stockhaar) and German Shepherd Dog (Langstockhaar), at the KUSA Championship Show to be held as part of the KUSA Classic weekend on 28.05.2022.
This decision is to be ratified at the Exco 05-2022 meeting to be held on 24.05.2022.

5.21.1 Mrs Sue Woodiwiss (Membership No 41501) has applied to become a Trick Dog Evaluator. She meets the requirements of Schedule 11(C), Regulation 7.2, in that she :
• Judges multiple disciplines, namely Working Trials, Dog Dancing and Rally, and is a CGC Evaluator;
• Has successfully handled a dog to at least Intermediate level;
• Is a Member of good standing of KUSA;
• Has experience in training tricks being the instructor at Marks Park Dog Training Club.

9.1 Applications for Club Affiliation/Notification of Closure
9.1.1 Garden Route German Shepherd Dog Club (name TBC)
The Club has expressed interest in becoming affiliated and have asked for a Constitution to be drafted for them. Other matters (e.g., Club officials and payment) are in progress.

9.2 Amendments to Club Constitutions
9.2.1 Schnauzer Club of Gauteng
The Club requested changes in June 2021 which were, for whatever reason, not submitted to Exco for approval. These included a change to their minimum and maximum number of Committee Members, and to enable meetings to take place via electronic platforms (see attached). When the Club queried this for their upcoming AGM (23.05.2022), it was suggested to the Club that they rather adopt the new Constitution. However, they have strong feelings against this (see attached mail). Mr Gérard Robinson has advised that the Club is constituted as a Multi-breed Specialist Club which the current Constitution does not allow for.

9.2.2 Bellville GSD Club
The Bellville German Shepherd Dog Club (BGSD) has requested a name change as the German Shepherd Dog is the minority in the Club, and they do not meet the 80% requirement of German Shepherd Dog owners to be a Specialist German Shepherd Dog Club (see attached letter). The Club is meeting on 17.05 2022 to discuss name alternatives which will be communicated to the KUSA Office as soon as possible thereafter. The name West Coast IGP Club was approved.

9.2.3 Club name change – The Golden Retriever Club of Transvaal
Email received from the Chairman of DOGSPC, regarding a proposed name change of the Golden Retriever Club of Transvaal to The Golden Retriever Club.
After discussion it was established that, as there exists a Golden Retriever Club of KZN, this proposed name change may not be possible. The KUSA Office informed the Chairman of DOGSPC

A meeting is scheduled to discuss alternate names.

11.1 CP sought clarity on whether a Schedule 5E event carries the same rules as a Championship Show.
NS advised that according to Schedule 10 Regulation 3.10. all Breed events held under Schedule 5E Licence are excluded from Judging restrictions described in sub regulations.
