CHAMPIONSHIPS OF SOUTHERN AFRICA

Schedule 5(M), Appendix A

1. LICENSING & SHOW REGULATIONS

1.1 The Regulations relating to licensing and other matters to do with Shows, as set out in Schedule 3 Regulations for Championship Shows and Schedule 4 Regulations for Non-Championship Shows of the Constitution of The Kennel Union of Southern Africa shall apply to this Competition so far as they can be relevant to the Flyball Championship of Southern Africa Competition and so far as they do not conflict with the specific terms of this Schedule 5M (A).

1.2 The Regulations, as set in Schedule 5M Flyball of The Kennel Union Constitution, shall apply to this Competition mutatis mutandis.

2. SCOPE OF THE LICENCE

2.1 A Club which is qualified to hold a Championship Show in the year in which it is intended to hold the Flyball Championship of Southern Africa, may hold the event named in this Schedule in conjunction with such Championship Show or separate therefrom.

2.2 Each Club participating in any part of this Competition shall submit a Draft Schedule under the terms of Schedule 3 Regulation 5.

3. ELIGIBILITY FOR COMPETITION

3.1 All dogs must be on a Kennel Union Register or Record or be registered with an organisation in reciprocity with or which there is a written agreement with KUSA.

4. HOST CLUBS

Until or unless this Schedule 5M (A) is amended or altered, the Host Clubs for this event are designated as:

4.1 Any affiliated Club in any participating Province which is qualified to host any of the events covered by this Schedule.

5. QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY

5.1 Each Province, (Gauteng, Kwazulu Natal, Free State, Eastern Province and Western Province) is to organize their own Qualifying rounds.

5.2 Each Province is eligible to send two (2) teams, including Gauteng (NAPC and DOGSPC). This is to ensure that the competition is completed timeously.

6. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

6.1 Entry closing date for the Championships shall be published by the individual Club to whom a licence is issued by the Provincial or Liaison Council of the Kennel Union of Southern Africa.

6.2 Entry fees, which shall cover the Championships, shall be charged by the Club holding the event.

6.3 As the Flyball Championship of the Year is a prestige event, all competitors at the event will be required to dress as follows:

6.3.1 Competitors will be required to wear a T-shirt, (when the event is sponsored, and if required by the Sponsor, a T-shirt supplied by him shall be worn), and either fitted slacks or track suit pants of their own in good order.

6.4 It is a condition of entry that competitors may not use their dogs for advertising without the prior permission of the Sponsor in writing.

7. JUDGING

7.1 The events will be judged by Judges who are qualified to judge Flyball in terms of the Regulations of the Kennel Union of Southern Africa and whose names shall be published in the Schedule of the Clubs holding the event.

7.2 The Championships will be run as a Round Robin competition, in accordance to Schedule 5M.

8. PRIZES AND AWARDS

8.1 In all sections of this Competition the Sponsor/s will provide prizes, as determined by themselves and not in contravention of Schedule 3 Regulation 29.1 of the Constitution of the Kennel Union of Southern Africa, and details of such prizes shall be published in the Schedule relating to each event.

8.2 Trophies may be awarded for the Championships but it should not be taken that any such trophies will be offered or awarded.

8.2.1 The Flyball Championships of Southern Africa will be awarded to the winners of the Championship Competition.

8.2.2 The winners will be eligible to represent South Africa and the Kennel Union of Southern Africa in any international event that the Kennel Union of Southern Africa deems a recognised event.

8.2.3 The Flyball Championship of Southern Africa Trophies are perpetual Challenge Trophies and may never be won outright. A miniature of the Trophy will be presented to the winner team members to retain in their own possession.

9. SPONSORSHIP

The event may be sponsored permanently or on an annual basis by any organisation acceptable to both the Federal Council of the Kennel Union of Southern Africa and the Host Club. In years when the event is sponsored, the title may be preceded by the name of the Sponsor. Should either Club or Sponsor wish to disassociate themselves with the event, this
may not be done so as to prejudice the holding of the event in that year or any succeeding years. For this reason a contract must be drawn up between the Club and any Sponsor establishing the rights and obligations of both should either or both wish to withdraw from association with this Competition.
