Posted in KUSA News

On behalf of the Kennel Union of Southern Africa (KUSA) and the Federal Council, I have pleasure in announcing the appointment of Gérard Robinson as the Secretary of KUSA. With his wealth of experience in the corporate world, and many years’ involvement in the dog world as exhibitor, administrator and Judge, Gérard brings to the Kennel Union a bounty of much-needed skills and expertise. Over the past number of years and up to the present, he has served KUSA and the dog world at the highest level of governance. In assuming his KUSA secretarial responsibilities, Gérard will be stepping down as the Chairman of the Districts of Gauteng & Surrounds Provincial Council (DOGSPC), the office of Vice-Chairman of the Federal Council and other offices held at executive level.

In joining the staff of the Kennel Union, Gérard provided the following statement:Gerard Profile Pic (2)

“Having served the Kennel Union and its affiliated and enabled structures in a number of leadership roles over the years, all I can hope for is that I’ve left a legacy which my successors will find useful and inspiring. As much as I will miss my interactions at Council level, I do however feel the time is right for me to deploy my administrative and other skills in the service of the Kennel Union in a more dedicated and committed manner to help it meet the challenges in a dog world increasingly complicated by activism, disinformation, and deception. I thank the dog world at large, and especially the members of DOGSPC, for the multiple years of sustained confidence in my leadership, abilities, and competence. I wish my successors only the best in the future management of DOGSPC – a large and diverse Provincial Council – in pursuit of its sustained prosperity.”

Gérard’s appointment to the position of KUSA Secretary is with immediate effect and as per standard KUSA employment policy will serve a probationary period during which period he will serve as the Acting KUSA Secretary. As is the case with most of the KUSA Office staff, Gérard will predominantly work remotely from home.

I congratulate Gérard on his appointment and look forward to working closely with him to achieve the goals and objectives set by the Federal Council and expectations of the KUSA membership.
