The amendments and additions to the Schedules listed below were agreed by the Federal Council Members at its meeting held on 14/15 May 2011and will become effective on 01.01.2012
N.B.  The references refer to the Constitution and Schedules on the KUSA website (www.kusa.co.za).
AMENDMENTS TO THE SCHEDULES
SCHEDULE 2 REGULATIONS FOR THE CLASSIFICATION, REGISTRATION AND TRANSFER OF THE REGISTERED OWNERSHIP OF DOGS
APPENDIX E - BREED SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR IMPORTED & EXPORTED DOGS
Insert New:
HD/ED requirements for the Importation of Rottweilers and Semen for breeding purposes.
1. All Rottweilers being imported under twelve (12) months of age must be screened in South Africa once the animal is at least eighteen (18) months. Any HD/ED gradings given to Rottweilers under twelve (12) months of age are not accepted.
2. HD requirements for the importation of Rottweilers or semen for breeding or Championship purposes:
2.2.1     The animal must be x-rayed and scored over the age of twelve (12) months
2.2.2     The animal must receive an official FCI/ADRK grading according to FCI/ADRK Regulations
2.2.3     Any grading given must either be performed or endorsed by the
Veterinary University of the country, ADRK or hip dysplasia panel of the country. This must be clearly reflected on the official HD/ED certificate. Alternatively the grading veterinarian must be officially recognised (in writing) by the Veterinary University of the country as being qualified to perform gradings according to the FCI system.
Or
2.2.4     Animals receiving an official recognised grading in a country (as per list lodged with KUSA by RBC) over the age of twelve (12) months are accepted.
Alternatively
2.2.5     If the dog fails to meet the above requirements the animal must be regraded in South Africa over the age of eighteen (18) months.
SCHEDULE 3 REGULATION 42 - CHAMPION DOGS
Amend to read:
Reg 42.8.2 Rottweilers
Reg 42.8.2.1
Only one (1) Challenge Certificate gained before the age of eighteen (18) months to count and the remaining points to be gained after the age of eighteen (18) months.
Reg 42.8.2.2
Achieved at least two (2) gradings of “V” (excellent) from a Specialist Rottweiler Judge. The V gradings must be obtained by two (2) different Specialist Rottweiler judges. At least one (1) V grading should be obtained after the age of twenty-four (24) months.
Reg 42.8.2.3
Applicant is able to produce acceptable documentation, including evidence of positive identification, attesting that the dog has been x-rayed for Hip Dysplasia and Elbow Dysplasia at the minimum age of eighteen (18) months and the hips were found to be within the range of HD A1 to C2. There are currently no restrictions on the elbow scores.

The dog has been assessed by a qualified Breed Surveyor. (Note - the Breed Assessment does not include a fighting spirit and courage test).
SCHEDULE 5E SPECIAL EVENTS
NEW SCHEDULE 5E(22) REGULATIONS FOR NORTHERN AREAS TOP DOG COMPETITION
Notice is hereby given in terms of Article 41 of The Kennel Union Constitution that the above named new Schedule will become effective on 1 January 2012 and copies will be circulated to all Provincial Councils and Affiliated Clubs as timeously as possible.  They will also be placed on the KUSA Website and may be downloaded for gratis or hardcopies will be available to members at a price to be determined.
SCHEDULE 5G REGULATIONS FOR DOG CARTING
Insert New Regulation 6.7 Inactive Judge
A judge whether learner or licensed, who has not carried out a judging appointment for a period of three (3) years or more and wishes to resume judging must pass a written examination on Schedule 5G Regulations. This examination shall be as determined from time to time by the National Carting Sub-Committee, KUSA shall be so informed and they in turn shall inform the judge in writing (copied to the National Sub-Committee) that he passed the test and may now accept judging appointments up to the highest level that he was previously entitled to judge.
NEW SCHEDULE 5N BASIC WORKING /BEHAVIOUR TEST (BH) (Begleithund)

NEW SCHEDULE 5P ENDURANCE TEST (AD) (Ausdauerpruefung)
Notice is hereby given in terms of Article 41 of The Kennel Union Constitution that the above named new Schedule will become effective on 1 January 2012 and copies will be circulated to all Provincial Councils and Affiliated Clubs as timeously as possible.  They will also be placed on the KUSA Website and may be downloaded for gratis or hardcopies will be available to members at a price to be determined.
As various amendments become effective the documents displayed on the KUSA website will be altered accordingly.  These documents may be downloaded for free.
